It is with great sadness that the family of Alistair Donald Mackenzie announce his passing on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at his home in Oakville Ontario.

He is survived by his wife Susan, son Simon (Lesley), daughters Julie & Angie (Michael), brother Hector (Anne), and his grandchildren Brayden, Zachary, Jake, Eilidh, Tyler, and Harry. Alistair is predeceased by his sister Sarah (Neil) and brother Murdo (Violet). Alistair will be fondly missed by his many cousins, nieces and nephews around the globe. Alistair will be forever remembered in their hearts.

Alistair was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on October 2nd, 1948 to Murdo and Christina Mackenzie.

Alistair worked in the traffic department for the Lothian & Borders Police for 30 years in Edinburgh, Scotland until retiring and moving to Oakville, Ontario Canada.

In Oakville he met and married his wife Susan in 2001. Alistair opened a successful garage door sales and repair service until closing the company in 2021. Alistair and his wife Susan wintered in Florida where they enjoyed golf and met many wonderful friends.

Alistair will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family. He adored and was so proud of all his grandchildren. Alistair was a faithful man who loved Jesus, his church and the friendships he shared with many members of The Meeting House. Alistair was a faithful supporter of The Heart of Midlothian Football Club.

Alistair endured a long and valiant journey with prostate cancer. His positivity and strong faith kept him with us for many years since learning of his diagnosis.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday May 12th at 1:00pm EST at:
The Meeting House, 2700 Bristol Circle, Oakville.
