It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the sudden passing of David Stephen Mortimer on Wednesday, December 30th at the young age of 34 years. Beloved son of Stephen Mortimer and the late Gayle, loving brother to Sara, brother-in-law to Brendan, and new uncle to his young nephew. He will be fondly remembered by his aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
As a promising young baseball player at six years of age, he could pitch strikeouts with ease. David touched many lives and was a friend to everyone he met. Early in his teen years, he struggled with substance abuse and tried valiantly several times to go clean. Tragically, he lost that battle.
David had a huge heart and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Thanks to all who cheered him on for many years. You are much appreciated.
There is no funeral or service planned. Please and Thanks, no flowers. But if you wish, you could plant a memorial tree in David's memory. Otherwise, please take a peaceful moment to toast David in your own special way...perhaps on a baseball diamond.
