Dorothy Anne Nurse

November 20, 1943 — February 5, 2020

Peacefully on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. Anne, beloved wife of 55 years to Lester. Loving mother to Elizabeth (David) and Steven (Bailey). Beloved sister to Bette Greenwood and the late Lyle Greenwood, aunt to Jerry Kittel (Mary), and great-aunt to Jacqueline and Alexander Kittel.  Much loved Grandma of Chloe, Clara, Zeppelin and Monroe. Daughter of the late Earl and Lucy Greenwood.  She will be missed by extended family and friends in British Columbia and throughout Canada, as well as in the U.S. and Trinidad & Tobago.

Anne was born on a farm on November 20, 1943 in Kenville, Manitoba. Growing up she excelled at piano, figure skating and the 4-H Club. While attending the University of Winnipeg she met Lester. They married on September 19, 1964 and lived in Winnipeg and Sudbury, Ontario before moving to Scarborough, Ontario in 1969.  In Scarborough they raised their two children and resided there for 50 years. Anne worked for 30 years as a social worker and supervisor for the Social Services Department of the Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto. She enjoyed gardening, spending time with her grandchildren, and following curling and figure skating.

A private memorial gathering for family and friends will be held on Monday, February 17, 2020 from 2 to 5 pm. Please contact a family member for further information.
