Eleanor Louise Jones December 29th, 1940 - February 10th, 2021

Eleanor Louise Jones passed away peacefully at the age of 80 due to complications related to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) at the Elisabeth Bruyère Hospital on Wednesday, February 10th, 2021.

She is survived by her brother Charles Richard Brown and her brother-in-law Bernard Cassidy. Eleanor was the most cherished mother of John Edward, David Charles, Gwendolyn Elizabeth (Phil Herring), Jennifer Louise, Geraldine Martha and Kathaleen Rose (Donald Davis). She was much loved by her grandson Matthew Thomas, her nephew Steve Cassidy and her niece Susan Duncan.

Predeceased by her father Charles Wilfred Brown, mother Mildred Eugene Brown (Mathewson), her sister Marjorie Ann Cassidy and nephew Ed Cassidy

Loving mother and grandmother to her 6 children and grandson, Eleanor strived to support her family in every way possible. With all her children fully grown she finally was able to participate in a Christopher Leadership course, acquire her High School Diploma and went on to achieve a College Diploma in General Arts and Science. Eleanor was involved for many years in her community and volunteered her time at Rideau Park United Church and Waupoos Family Farm. In her later years she became involved with the Good Companions.

We gratefully thank the Cassidy Family for all the love and support they gave Eleanor over the years.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a Memorial Service will be held at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, donations to The Good Companions, The Bruyère Foundation, The Canadian Lung Association, The Ottawa Food Bank, Rideau Park United Church, Banff Community House and Waupoos Family Farm would be greatly appreciated.
