Gerald James Redmond

December 1, 1930 – July 16, 2021

Welcomed to his eternal home, on Friday, July 16th, 2021, Gerry died peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 90.

Born in Verdun, Quebec. Gerry was devoted to his faith and served as a Eucharist Minister for many years at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Tillsonburg, Ontario.

Gerry had three passions in life - family, cooking and woodworking. There was always space for another at his table. In his retirement, he honed his skill for woodworking, creating many beautiful keepsakes for his family.

Gerry is predeceased by his loving wife of 64 years, Margaret Redmond (Provost).

He was a loving father and father-in-law to Stephen Redmond (Judi), of Cambridge; Donna (David Dowse), of London; Katherine (David Lower), of Brampton; Christopher Redmond (Joanne), of Burlington; and Laura (Peter Torchia), of Mississauga, also proud and loving grandfather of thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his sister Margaret (Harry Buchanan), brother-in-laws Roger Provost, Frank Provost (Camilla), George Provost (Cecille) and sister-in-law Leona Armstrong (George). Gerry is survived by his sister Rita Provost; brother Patrick Redmond (Barbara); and brother George Redmond. He was a loving uncle to his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

In keeping with Gerry’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

A private service for immediate family will take place on Monday, July 26th, 2021 in Tillsonburg Ontario. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Gerry’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
