Gordon Stuart Robertson

Gord passed away suddenly on July 19, 2023, at the age of 69, at his home in Brantford, Ontario. Beloved husband of Connie (deceased 2013) for 14 years. Predeceased by his dear parents, Bob (2010) & Betty (2023) Robertson. Gord will be deeply missed by his sisters, Shirley, and Barb (Dave Mann), as well as his nieces, Jennifer, Charlotte (Ross), & Leanna (Tomas), and great-nephew Bennett. He is also survived by several cousins.

From a young age, Gord had a passion for auto mechanics and cars. He was always tinkering with the family cars and bikes. He eventually turned that passion into his career. For many years, he worked as an auto mechanic, first for Goodwill and then, Esso in Toronto. Latterly, up to his retirement, Gord worked as a truck driver for Sobeys Foods (Lumsden Brothers) in Brantford.

Outside of his career, Gord had a variety of hobbies that brought him joy. He especially loved to fish and golf. In his younger years, he volunteered for the Canadian Progress Club in his community. Through this group he particularly enjoyed helping to foster friendships and fun amongst people with intellectual and physical disabilities. Gord had a kind heart and he adored animals, especially dogs. Without a doubt, Gord’s most recent pets, Marley, Daisy, and Daisy-Mae were wagging their tails as they greeted him on the other side.

A celebration of life may take place at a later date. Details to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
