Jacques Pitre

July 21, 1953 ~ December 20, 2021 (age 68)

Jacques Pitre
July 21, 1953 – December 20, 2021

Passed away at the Montfort Hospital on December 20, 2021 at the age of 68.  Jacques will be missed by his fiancé Suzanne Daoust, sons Eric Pitre and Patrick Pitre, brothers Edouard Pitre and Jean Pitre and his sister Diane Pitre.  Predeceased by his parents Wilfred Pitre and Loretta Synette and brothers François "Frank" Pitre and André Pitre.

Jacques had many interest and hobbies, including competing in cards, bowling (once winning two trophies in one night), dice and darts.  While sipping Spruce beer, he loved watching his Montreal Canadiens, wrestling and King Fu movies, especially ones starring Bruce Lee.   He enjoyed birds and had a special love for eagles, also collecting anything to do with dragons.   He could often be found listening to Cher, Tom Jones and Elvis.   He was known to be a perfect swimmer and enjoyed soaking up the sunshine.  Jacques never needed a recipe, which was helpful for his career as a Chef.

Jacques was not a man to express his feelings and kept a lot to himself.   Yet his conversations were mellow and sweet with those he cherished and total strangers.  He had a beautiful soul and loved to talk to anyone.  His “dad jokes” will never be forgotten.

From Suzanne Daoust

“We always had walks down Blair River for hours, including Rideau Falls on Sussex in front of the Governor General’s home. That’s where he had given me my engagement ring after knowing me for 20 years as good friend. He also always told me “I'm the lucky one right little lady?”  There is so much more I could say.  I could write a book”

A memorial service will be held at Hope Cemetery (4660 Bank Street, Ottawa) on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 10 a.m.
