February 28, 1962 — February 1, 2023

Toronto

It is with profound heartache that I announce the passing of my beloved husband and sweetheart Joe Toole. On the evening of February 1,2023 my darling Joe left this world peacefully wrapped in my arms and surrounded with love.

Joe's larger than life personality touched the lives of all who met him. His humility, kindness and generosity for people came to Joe naturally, with authenticity.

Joe lived life to its fullest. He never took for granted the beauty in the little pleasures of things like the blooming of the lilac trees. Joe's daily walks along the train tracks brought him great joy. His connection to trains began as a boy, laying in bed listening to the sounds of the trains. Joe's passion as a hobby photographer left a mark on those around him. His natural ability to capture beauty and nail the shot are present in all his work. Joe was never seen without his camera.

Joe's accomplishments as a professional musician in his band The Phantoms and later Broken Joe are recognized by the Canadian music community and internationally by his fans. Joe's raw talent for singing, guitar and banjo playing were exceptional and evident in his recordings.

Joe was predeceased by his parents Merle and Bernadette Toole, Mr. Tinkers aka Gumby (Furbaby). Joe is survived by his loving wife Pamela, Floyd (Furbaby), sister Lana Toole (Lance John) Warren, Jessica, Joanna, Damon, brother Andy Toole (San San) Quinn, father and mother in-law Richard and Joanne Martin, sister in-law Cindy Martin Persowich (Evan) Vivienne. Joe will also be remembered by his four great nieces Jade, Katia, Mariah, Lana.

Heartfelt gratitude is extended to the staff of Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital Palliative Unit, who provided outstanding care during Joe's stay. Special thanks to Benjamin Mol and the Horseshoe Tavern, Lee's Palace and B-Side Barbers family. Thank you to all those who supported Joe through hospital visits, phone calls and texts.

Joe will be missed dearly and his memory cherished by his loved ones.
