It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joe at Trillium Health Centre in Mississauga a week after his 84th birthday on Wednesday July 29. Dad passed away peacefully with his children at his side.
Joe will be missed dearly by his children, Joe Castaldi (and Anita) of Woodbridge, Patrick Castaldi of Mississauga and Michelle Krizmanich (and Rob) of Etobicoke. He was known affectionately as “Papa Joe” to his 5 grandchildren, Bruce, Alexandra (and Jack), Danice, Taylor and Morgan.
Joe was born in Malta and moved to Canada after WW2 as a teenager. He was a charismatic leader, actively involved in the real estate community of Toronto for over 40 years as a broker, business owner and past president of the Toronto Real Estate Board. He loved to help people and took pleasure in making a difference as a real estate agent, mentor and champion of principles.
Joe enjoyed cottage life and truly embraced the spirit of being a Canadian. We will greatly miss Joe and his passion, independent spirit and sense of humour. He was truly one of a kind who for any that knew him was proud to do it “his way”.
We would like to extend a special thanks to the staff and friends he made at the Revera King Gardens Retirement Home where he spent the last few years and to the nursing staff and doctors at Trillium Health Centre.
A celebration of Joe’s life will be held at a later date for close family members and friends given the pandemic restrictions.
In Lieu of Flowers, Donations can be made to Trillium Health Partners Foundation.
