Kerry David Edward MacDonald

Kerry David Edward MacDonald, passed unexpectedly on Wednesday April 5th, 2023 at the young age of 68 in his home located in Brantford, Ontario, Canada.

Kerry was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on August 14th, 1954 to David MacDonald and Theresa MacDonald (née Jessome), and is the brother to his five surviving siblings, Colleen, Janet, Carol, Debbie, and Brian. Kerry is also survived by his children; Shannon and Brendan, his grandson; Daxton, his ex-wife; Michelle who he shared his two children with; and his three kitties which he loved dearly, Ari, Ava, and Arianna.

Kerry had a long standing career as a Correctional Officer serving the Ontario Correctional Services for 30+ years, where he later retired in 2008.

Kerry was a loving father to his two children, Shannon & Brendan, and a proud grandfather to his grandson Daxton whom he loved with all his heart. He also held special places in his heart for his son-in-law Luke, Shannon & Brendan’s sister Liberti, and Daxton’s Mom, Ingrid.

Kerry devoted his life to his family where they have many fond memories with him over the years. Kerry was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs, and Toronto Blue Jays fan, he enjoyed spending summers at the trailer, taking his grandson Daxton out to ride his scooter or bike, going to the splash pad, family ski trips, and golfing. It didn’t really matter what the occasion was, as long as he was spending quality time with his family.

Kerry was also a loving friend to many people, regularly offering and soliciting advice when needed. He always gave without the expectation of something in return, and would give anything to help you out if needed.

He will always be remembered for his infectious big smile, goofy sense of humour, and his loving and protective nature.

Funeral visitation is scheduled for 1pm on Sunday April 16th at St. John’s Dixie Cemetery and Crematorium (737 Dundas Street East, Mississauga,L4Y 2B5), followed by the funeral service at 2pm, which can be viewed online by visiting https://stjohnsdixie.com/cemetery/live-memorial/ .
