St. Catharines

Marian was born in Welland (at home) June 2, 1925, to Mark & Elsie (Welsh) Russell

Predeceased by her husband, Harold (Boots) Campbell 1986 and her brother, Bill (Nick) Russell 1988 (Dawn Jones 2021)

Mother of 3 sons. Mark (Eleanor Pierrynowski 2008), Donald (Barbara Talbot), Craig (Janice Oakley)

Survived by her grandchildren, Amy Wilcox (Rick McCoy), Belinda (Willie Hosey), Sheri, Adrian Morgan Leckie), Jennifer (Doug Moscroft), Jessica (Jeffrey), Mark (Elisabeth Butler), and Graham as well as her great grandchildren, Amanda Wilcox, Joshua Parisi, Emma and Natalie Hosey, Trent, Trillian and Violet Campbell and Kaitlin and Jack Moscroft

Hired out of school to work at Conroy Mfg. Co. during the war, Marian then went on to work at the English Electric Company next door. After raising her family, she gained employment with the Lincoln County Board of Education where she retired in 1990 having worked in the St. Catharines Collegiate office and in the Community Education department on Oakdale Ave.

After retirement she purchased a motorhome, and with her longtime friend Deni Cirroco, would drive to Florida each winter to avoid the snow and cold. In the summer months she would pack up the motorhome and take her grandchildren to Lazy Lakes or Sauble Beach for some camping fun.

Marian was active with Garden City Productions in the 60’s and decided to take up skiing in her 50’s. She sang in the Memorial Church Choir for about 50 Years, sometimes playing the piano for services during summer months and was active in the UCW.  After amalgamation, she served on the pastoral care committee at Silver Spire United Church while volunteering at the Dunlop Seniors Center both in the office and playing the piano for the Goldenaires until the Covid shutdown.

Marian will be missed by her family and all that knew her.

Cremation has taken place; a celebration of life will be held at a later date when it’s safer to do so.
