September 17, 1955 — September 29, 2021

Kaye, Martin "Dan"

With broken hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Dan on Sept. 29/21, after a very hard fought battle, in his 67th year, surrounded by his loving family. Son of the late Francis Rudolph and Gwladys Kaye. Beloved spouse of Margaret (Maggie) Kaye,  and much loved father of Lucas, Joshua and Amelia (Ricky). Best
fun-loving Papa of Gavin, Ella, Konnor and Violet. Missed so much by his "fur-baby" ROXY. Loved brother of Linda (Jack) Swiddle, Alan (Sharon) Kaye, Beverley (Mike) McAllister,
Peter (Brenda) Fewkes.

Lovingly remembered by his extended family. Mary Lynn (Eugene) Perabo, Theresa Anne (Maureen) Thompson, Maureen (Brad) Hunkin, Monica Thompson, Jiggs (Cheryl) Thompson,
Angela Gaspari. Predeceased by Clayton, Doris, Peter and Jo. Loved and missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Proud Ironworker (Local 736 Hamilton) for 44 years. Dan was a life-long, die-hard Toronto Maple Leaf and Hamilton Ti-Cat fan. Dan really loved driving "his" JEEP, and having a "cold" BLUE on the front porch. Most of all, he loved spending time with his wife Maggie - forever planning the next trip to Cuba. ALL of his "kids", and spoiling his grandbabies with M&M's and JuJubes.
Our hearts are at peace, knowing that he is entering this next chapter, with his most cherished "BUDDY"--wagging his tail beside him and giving him sloppy kisses.

A special THANK YOU to Nurse Joan for her heartfelt palliative care and her supportive presence during Dan's last hour.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Joseph's Hospital (50 Charlton Ave, Hamilton, On) ICU staff. These funds are intended to provide to others the excellent and compassionate care that my husband received!

Memorial date  tentatively planned for Oct. 23, 2021 at our residence at 12 Collier Crescent, Hamilton, ON. We will keep you informed.
