Paul E. Marier

July 24, 1952 — April 1, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Marier (age 68).  Paul passed away peacefully in hospital on April 1st, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.

Dearly loved son of the late Paul and Joan Marier.
Very loved brother of Marie-Jeanne (Ross Hawley), Dan (Sue Marier) and Deanna Marier (Richard Peloquin)
Incredibly loving uncle and great uncle to Jessica and Chris (Kaylee and Maya), Natasha and Matt (Maeve and Ada), Adam and Keven, Jennifer and Mike (Brayden and Brynlee), Josh and Caro (Kiana and Alexandra), Amanda and Marcel, and Rose-Aline and Reid.

Paul was a man full of curiosity, energy and passion who observed the world through a unique lens. He could tell you stories about anything but he also loved to listen.  Among other things, he loved history, people, sports, culture, counterculture, the outdoors, photography and art, Halloween, coffee, hotdogs and roasted cashews.  He hated paying for parking and would walk for blocks to avoid it even though he could easily afford it. Paul liked blue collar people and his advice on life was pretty much "have a good time".  He didn't take himself too seriously.  When other people would tell you to work hard and play hard, he'd tell you to play hard and work as little as possible. He never lost his sense of humour and wonder.

Paul wanted people to know that he's "ON VACATION - GONE FISHING"

As he liked to say "THIS ISN'T GOODBYE BUT SEE YOU LATER"

There will be a private family celebration of life at a later date when it is safe to do so.

Until we meet again Paul, you will forever be in our hearts.

Donations can be made to the Ottawa Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario. (See link below)
