Paul grew up in Timmins and moved his family to Barrie in the 1960s. He and Margaret spent a year in Mexico then came back to live in St. Catharines. They spent the last 15 years in Embrun Ontario. His work life was long and varied, from working in the gold mines up north to having a Massage Therapy practice in Barrie.

He enjoyed playing hockey until age 63 and in the 70’s he kept the neighbourhood ice rink in great shape. He spent many hours coaching and refereeing hockey for the Knights of Columbus and the Barrie Lacrosse Association. His love for the outdoors led to many family camping trips and his participation as a scout leader in Timmins and for the 4th Barrie Scouts. He also volunteered with Marriage Encounter for 10 years and sang in the church choirs wherever he was. While in Embrun, he enjoyed going to a local seniors day program and attended his weekly social hour “with the guys” and the beloved Coordinator Lucie.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the volunteers and staff (all of them were Angels) at the May Court Hospice, Drs Vincent and Rioux of the Palliative Team, “Lynne de LHIN” at EOHU, the nurses from Bayshore Home Health Cornwall, Dr Levesque and staff, Champlain Rehab and the Winchester District Memorial Hospital for all their attention and care for Paul. Cremation has taken place and a private celebration of Paul's life will be held for the family when permitted.
