It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Margaret (Peggy) Martin, at the age of 70. Peg passed away peacefully at Oshawa Hospital after a brief but courageous battle with brain cancer.
Peg is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, and best friend, Barry, and her loving children, Rick (Shawna) and Mike (Cathy) and grandsons Kyle, Wyatt and Mason. Also left with loving memories are her sister Diane (Bert) O’Flaherty and brothers Bob & Jim (Julie) Follett. Predeceased by her parents Michael and Anne Follett and Aunt Steph Lansing.
To Peg, family was everything and she had a special place in her heart for her extended family and dear friends.
Peg had a wonderfully, wicked sense of humour, a love for photography, story writing, music and a continuous hunger for learning new things.
Peg was a force of kindness and compassion; she always had a kind word for anyone she met. Her ability to always look on the bright side of any situation, made her an extraordinary human being. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A special thank you to Melanie and Jessica for the exceptional and compassionate home care they provided and the Oshawa Hospital Supportive Care Unit.
Memorial donations can be made to The Gord Downie Fund for Brain Cancer Research at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.
As per Peg’s request no funeral will be held. Due to COVID-19 a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
