Predeceased by his parents Adolph and Sylvia Rantz and his in-laws Norman and Agnes Walters. Ron was an avid musician and had his own band The Drifters for many years as well as writing his own songs for 3 CD's with his buddies Wayne Lance and Dennis Kruger.

As well as working for over 25 years at Storwal until its closure, his band provided music at many Ontario and Quebec venues. He was affectionately referred to as Rockin Ronnie or the Triple R.  Ron's favorite pastime when he wasn't hunting, fishing, or cutting wood, was travelling to the Dominican, Barbados, Mexico, Margarita Island, and an Alaskan cruise with his wife.  As per Ron's wishes, there will be no visitation or service and cremation has taken place. If desired, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
