Stephen John Headley

April 17, 1957 — May 7, 2023

Stephen John Headley 66
Passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer at Yee Hong Peter K. Kwok Hospice.

Stephen was born to John & Eva Headley on April 17 1957. They lived on Bertrand Road in Scarborough as a family until their passing. Then Stephen continued to lived with his brother Dave, and the two brothers called it home for many years together.

Stephen attended Ionview  then  Winston Churchill Collegiate.

He worked hard as a pot maker at Supreme Aluminum, and
Later worked as a shipping manager for Featherlite ladders.

Stephen's quiet determination made him a pleasure to be around, because he enjoyed the company of others, and so he would organize large groups for walks in a nearby park.
Later on in life he enjoyed the company of friends and having conversations at the local Tim Hortons.

In Stephen's younger years he enjoyed doing spontaneous things that added an extra dimension to the ordinary, like testing out his canoe at midnight with his friend. He loved looking up at the stars and seeing all creation.

He also enjoyed playing sports such as ice hockey and was a devout Maple Leaf fan. He proudly had a Toronto Maple Leaf flag on display in his car.  He didn't miss a game,  even watching a day before his passing.....still hoping.

He enjoyed the outdoors and nature.
He enjoyed watching his brother feed the birds, and kept doing that task after Dave's passing.
Stephen was fond of his pets, they brought so much joy to his life. He enjoyed the company of dogs around him,  Minnie and later Pablo.

Stephen was know for his big heart and caring spirit, that we will all miss.
He was always concerned about others and would go out of his way to help even at times when he was not in the best of health.
Stephen would never let you go by his home without a big smile and hello, or being there to help you as a neighbor anyway he could.

Stephen was predeceased by his beloved brother David, who meant the world to him. Stephen helped Dave throughout his sickness and was there to Dave's last breath.  He was a true friend to his brother to the end.

Stephen's glowing smile and big heart will be deeply missed by all his friends family and neighbors, especially in the Bertrand community where he called home for his entire life.

Stephen passed away peacefully Monday morning with his  companion Carol and her dog Pablo by his side on May 7 2023.

Stephen would be be happy knowing that we all took notice of all the beautiful things around us, and never underestimating the power of a  good walk around the neighborhood we grew up in.

A memorial service will be held on June 10 2023 at 2:00pm at the Forest Lawn Chapel, located at 4570 Yonge Street in North York.

To everything there is a season,
A time for everything under the sun
A time to be born and a time to die
A time to laugh and a time to cry
A time to dance and a time to
mourn
A time to seek and a time to let go.
This is the time we remember, one
who gave meaning to our lives.
This is the time we remember the
bonds that tied us together,
The love that we shared, and the
memories
that remain with us still.
