Wendy Murchison

Wendy passed away after a brave battle with cancer on September 17th at the age of 65. She was predeceased by her parents Kip and Val Murchison. Wendy leaves behind her daughter Alannah and brothers Blake and Neil. She will be missed by all who knew her, including her aunt Jacquey Murchison and cousins Don, Margo and Keith, her aunt Grace Howes and cousins Ian and Scott, her uncle Garry Patterson and cousins Julie and Janice, and her nieces and nephews Lindsay, Matthew, Jamie, Lauren and Michael.

Wendy attended Broadview Public School, Nepean High School and Queen’s University and had a profound love of music. She was an accomplished pianist and it gave her great joy to play. As did listening to her favourite artists (Joni, Carole, Elton, Bruce Cockburn, etc.).

Wendy loved spending time at her family cottage on Green Lake, Quebec and enjoyed nature wherever she could find it. She also had a particular skill at winning radio contests on CFRA and finding typos in news articles. 

Special thanks to Lou Labrecque, Jan Hanley (Goodwin) and all the doctors and caregivers who offered great support in her final months. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society and the Ottawa Food Bank would be greatly appreciated. A celebration of life will be held at a date to be determined.
