Ziad Kandalaft

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ziad Kandalaft, age 74, of Ottawa, Ontario, who peacefully departed on September 6, 2023, at the Queensway Carleton Hospital. He battled Alzheimer's disease with unwavering strength and grace.  

Ziad, known to many as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and resilience. He is survived by his devoted wife, Amal, his caring daughter, Hiba (Cole), and his loving son, Iyad (Jaime). Surrounded by his 4 grandsons, James, Owen, Theo, and Noah, Ziad was at his happiest.  He will forever hold a special place in the hearts of his sisters, Samar, and Kamilia, and his brothers, Hassan, Milad, Majdi, Samer, and their families. He is predeceased by his mother and father, Mary Jabaly and Ibrahim Kandalaft, and brother, Nabil.

Family and friends are invited to the funeral service honoring Ziad's life at Saints Peter and Paul Melkite Catholic Church (1161 North River Road) on September 8, 2023, at 11 AM, followed by a reception in the church hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada. Your contributions will help support those affected by Alzheimer's disease.
